Description
Scratch Out® Paste is a heavy-duty polishing compound designed to tackle tougher paint problems and restore clarity and shine on most finishes. When your paint has moderate scratches, stubborn scuffs, oxidation, bird droppings, or tree sap marks, this paste provides stronger correction than a light scratch remover, helping bring back richer color and a cleaner-looking finish without the cost of a body shop visit.
Why people choose the paste: it’s built for more noticeable defects and delivers a deeper clean + polish, while being safe to use when applied correctly with a soft applicator and proper pressure.
Best for: moderate scratches, heavier swirls, oxidation, stubborn stains/etching from sap or droppings, and dull paint that needs restoring.
How to Use Scratch Out® Paste (Step-by-Step)
Before You Start (Quick Prep)
- Work in the shade on a cool surface
- Wash the vehicle and dry completely
- Use a clean microfiber towel + a foam applicator pad (or soft microfiber applicator)
Step 1: Test a Small Area First
Pick a small section (about 2 ft x 2 ft) and test before doing the full panel. This helps confirm results and avoid overworking the paint.
Step 2: Apply a Small Amount
Add a nickel-to-quarter-sized amount of Scratch Out® Paste to your applicator. Less is more - you can always add more if needed.
Step 3: Work It Into the Paint
Using firm but controlled pressure, rub the product into the affected area using: Overlapping circular motions, or Cross-hatch passes (left-right, then up-down) Keep working the product for 30–60 seconds per section.
Step 4: Wipe Clean + Inspect
Wipe off residue with a clean microfiber towel. Inspect from different angles. If needed, repeat one more pass for that section.
Step 5: Repeat Panel-by-Panel
Continue across the vehicle in small sections. Tip: swap microfiber towels if they become saturated.
